How I Got My Book Deal & What I Cooked Last Week
The Journey to My First Cookbook, Teriyaki Chicken Rice Bowls, Mom’s Shrimp Fried Rice
Hi everyone,
I hope you had a great week! I’ve officially finished all 100 recipes for my cookbook and will be sending the manuscript to my editor on Monday. The final recipe was a Mediterranean Chicken Plate, where everything comes together on a single sheet pan. It was so yummy and I definitely feel like I ended on a high note!
Putting the finishing touches on everything these past few days has made me even more excited about the book. There are so many incredible dishes I can’t wait for you to try. Every recipe has been tested (and re-tested!) to make sure it’s just right, so I’m confident they’ll turn out beautifully in your kitchen :) With the book on my mind so much this week, I thought now would be the perfect time to share something I’ve been meaning to tell you: how I landed my book deal.
But first, here’s a recipe for a delicious teriyaki chicken bowl. It’s an easy dinner that is always a hit, and I hope you enjoy it!

Teriyaki Chicken Rice Bowls

But landing a book deal? That’s a whole journey on its own. Here’s how it worked for me:
