Top 5 Tips for Finding Success as a Content Creator
When I launched Maxi's Kitchen in September 2018, I was still working full-time in tech. I’ll never forget how nervous I felt posting my very first cooking video. Fast forward six years, and I’ve learned so much along the way! Today, I’m sharing five key insights that have worked for me. I hope they’ll inspire you to take your first step and help set you up for success.
1. Create content about something you (genuinely) love.
It might sound obvious, but this is so important. Creating content takes so much time and effort, so you want to make sure it’s centered on something you’re truly passionate about. Consistency (more on that later) is key to success, and if you’re not *super* excited about your topic, it’ll be hard to stick with it for the long haul.
For me, cooking was the natural choice. When I worked in corporate, it was often the highlight of my day. If I had a break between meetings while working from home, I’d dash to the grocery store and start prepping dinner. I was constantly thinking about my next creation, planning recipes, and looking forward to being in the kitchen. Cooking wasn’t just a hobby—it was my happy place. That’s why, when I decided to focus on content creation full-time, it felt like the perfect fit.
2. Start putting content out there, even if it’s not perfect.
